Back in March we had to submit an artist statement to our show committee. This was around the time I fell in love with Courier fonts as an unofficial design element for the written portions of the thesis. Seeing as that’s a bit of a landmark choice, the text feels natural to include in this “building and blogging the thesis” catalogue/info dump.
The artist statement begins by summing up the goal of the exhibition. It then defines the project principles, touches on the methods of construction, dabbles in the conceptual elements, and ends on what I feel was my role as the artist. And it’s been drizzled with tasty melodrama.
